Job description

Robert Half is looking for a BI Dashboard Engineer to support and enhance a growing reporting environment for our client based in Santa Clara, California. This autonomous, highly technical BI Contractor will own and maintain our data reporting ecosystem. The ideal candidate brings expert-level Sigma / Tableau or BI dashboarding proficiency, hands-on experience in the SaaS/Product space, and the capability to drive projects independently from ambiguous business questions to fully realized data solutions. This is a hybrid role in Santa Clara, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sigma Dashboard Development: Design, build, and optimize complex, highly dynamic workbooks, datasets, and visualizations using Sigma Computing as the primary BI interface.
  • Requirements Gathering: Partner directly with cross-functional stakeholders to translate vague, loosely defined business problems into clear technical data specifications and metrics.
  • Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: Diagnose, debug, and resolve BI dashboard errors, broken pipelines, logic discrepancies, and query performance bottlenecks.
  • Autonomous Execution: Take full end-to-end ownership of data deliverables with minimal supervision, navigating ambiguity to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions.

  • SQL: Working knowledge of SQL and ability to debug data models in dbt and Snowflake.
  • Modern Data Stack: Familiarity with modern data architectures feeding into Sigma (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery).
