What does it mean to have a full remote job?

A 'Full Remote' job allows employees to work entirely from a location of their choice, without the need to commute to a physical office. This setup offers flexibility in terms of where and often when you work, as long as job requirements are met. Full remote positions rely heavily on digital communication tools and self-motivation. Many companies offer these roles to access a wider talent pool and support work-life balance. However, some full remote jobs may still require occasional travel for meetings or training.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote worker?

To thrive as a remote worker, you need strong self-management, time management, and task prioritization skills, often supported by relevant experience in your field. Familiarity with remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and project management systems like Trello or Asana is typically required. Excellent written communication, adaptability, and self-motivation are standout soft skills for this position. These abilities ensure productivity, seamless teamwork, and reliable results in a distributed work environment.

What are some effective strategies for staying connected and collaborating with your team as a fully remote employee?

As a fully remote employee, maintaining strong communication with your team is essential. Utilizing collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams helps bridge the distance and ensures regular check-ins. Proactively participating in virtual meetings, sharing updates, and setting clear expectations can help you stay engaged and aligned with team goals. It's also helpful to establish routines, such as daily stand-ups or weekly syncs, to foster a sense of connection and teamwork despite the physical distance.

What is the difference between Full Remote vs Part-Time Remote?

AspectFull RemotePart-Time Remote
Work HoursTypically 35-40 hours/weekLess than 30 hours/week
Job FlexibilityHigh flexibility in schedule and locationLimited hours, flexible schedule often still available
CredentialsSame as part-time, often requiring relevant experienceSame as full-time, but with potentially less experience needed
Work EnvironmentHome-based, fully remote setupHome-based, part-time remote setup
Employer UsageCommon in tech, marketing, customer supportUsed across various industries for flexible roles

Full Remote jobs involve working full-time hours from home with high flexibility, while Part-Time Remote roles offer fewer hours but still allow remote work. Both require similar skills and credentials but differ mainly in hours and schedule commitment.

Role

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer who can build production software across the front end and back end.

This needs to be an AI-native developer. We are not looking for someone who has merely tried ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude. You should have fundamentally changed how you develop software using agentic tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent tools. The candidate must be strong with React and Redux on the front end and Java with Spring Boot on the back end. You should also be productive with either Node.js or Python.

Technology profile

Front end

Strong production experience with:

  • React
  • Redux
  • Responsive web applications
  • Component-based interface design
  • Complex state and workflow management
  • API integration
  • Automated front-end testing

React and Redux depth is particularly important. The candidate should understand how to keep state, components, and user workflows maintainable as an application grows.

Back end

Strong production experience with:

  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • REST APIs
  • Service and business-logic design
  • Relational databases
  • Authentication and authorization
  • Integration and automated testing
  • Production troubleshooting

You should also be productive with at least one of:

  • Node.js
  • Python

Java and Spring Boot remain the primary back-end requirement. Node.js or Python expands the candidate's ability to build supporting services, automation, developer tooling, tests, and integrations.

AI-native engineering

This is a must-have, not a nice-to-have.

The candidate should use AI throughout the entire software-development lifecycle, including:

  • Turning requirements into specifications
  • Exploring and understanding existing codebases
  • Evaluating architecture and implementation options
  • Writing and refactoring code
  • Reviewing code and pull requests
  • Creating automated tests
  • Performing QA
  • Reproducing and debugging defects
  • Writing technical documentation
  • Preparing and validating releases

Your AI toolbox should extend beyond autocomplete inside an IDE. You should be comfortable using agentic command-line tools, repository-level instructions, automated browser and test tooling, and other development capabilities outside the traditional IDE.

You should understand how to:

  • Break substantial work into bounded assignments for subagents
  • Run independent investigations or implementation tasks in parallel
  • Give each agent the right context and constraints
  • Manage dependencies between agents
  • Reconcile multiple outputs into one coherent implementation
  • Identify conflicting assumptions or missing integration points
  • Manage the context window deliberately
  • Summarize long-running work without losing important decisions
  • Recognize when context has become stale or overloaded
  • Validate AI-produced work before it reaches production

The candidate remains accountable for everything that AI produces. AI mastery does not replace technical judgment.

What you would own

  • Front-end implementation: Build clear, responsive React and Redux interfaces for complex operational workflows.
  • Back-end implementation: Build APIs, integrations, and business logic using Java and Spring Boot.
  • AI-native execution: Use agents throughout specification, implementation, review, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Automated quality: Create meaningful unit, integration, API, and front-end tests.
  • Production readiness: Consider failure handling, observability, security, performance, and maintainability before release.
  • End-to-end delivery: Stay responsible for the capability after the initial code is written, including integration, release, production verification, and defect resolution.

Must-have experience

The ideal candidate has:

  • 7+ years of professional software-development experience
  • Mastery of an agentic development tool such as Claude Code or Cursor
  • Practical experience using AI for specifications, coding, reviews, QA, automated testing, debugging, and documentation
  • Experience orchestrating subagents or parallel AI workflows
  • A strong understanding of context-window management
  • The technical judgment to verify, correct, and take ownership of AI-generated work
  • Strong production experience with React and Redux
  • Strong production experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Professional experience with either Node.js or Python
  • Experience building and operating customer-facing web applications
  • Experience with APIs, databases, integrations, and automated testing

Strong preference

  • Deep front-end experience with complex operational interfaces
  • Redux Toolkit or Redux-Saga experience
  • Material UI, DevExpress, or similar component-framework experience
  • B2B SaaS or recurring-revenue product experience
  • Cloud-native application experience
  • Experience with distributed services or event-driven workflows
  • Experience with automated browser, API, integration, and contract testing
  • Production observability and incident-response experience
  • Experience in logistics, security, IoT, video, computer vision, or workflow automation
  • Created reusable AI instructions, agent workflows, development guardrails, or evaluation methods

This role will require the candidate to complete background checks (includes but not limited to: references, educational verification, criminal check, credit check - where applicable). Certain roles may also require testing.
