Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and evaluations to determine the mental health status and needs of clients, particularly within the context of hospice care.

  • Provide individual therapy to adults, utilizing evidence-based practices and solution-focused approaches to support clients dealing with grief and end-of-life issues.

  • Offer crisis intervention services as necessary, providing immediate support for clients in acute distress.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role involves supporting terminally ill patients and their families, addressing the mental health challenges associated with end-of-life care. You will work with a diverse range of clients presenting with various psychological symptoms related to grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression, ensuring they receive comprehensive emotional support during challenging times.

Qualifications
  • A valid and current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage clients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • A compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude, especially when working with sensitive end-of-life issues.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, particularly when handling a full caseload and administrative duties.
