Position Summary
Leads end-to-end Supply Chain Management activities for the Specialty Chemicals Business Unit (BU) on a global basis. Serves as the primary supply chain business partner to BU leadership and is accountable for BU supply chain performance, cross-functional alignment, and execution consistency across regions. Owns BU-level governance for customer service, logistics, inventory visibility, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), while coordinating with regional and site teams to ensure reliable execution, service excellence, and compliance with global standards and processes.
Drives BU supply chain performance globally by aligning planning, order fulfilment, logistics, and customer service activities across regions. Leads issue resolution, escalation management, and continuous improvement initiatives to support profitable growth, service performance, working capital objectives, and a consistent customer experience. Partners closely with Sales, Procurement, Operations, Shared Services, and regional teams to translate BU priorities into effective supply chain execution.
Responsibilities will include:
ORDER-TO-CASH AND CUSTOMER FULFILLMENT LEADERSHIP:
  • Owns BU-level order-to-cash governance and ensures consistent execution of customer service, order management, fulfilment, and logistics processes across regions.
  • Acts as the primary BU supply chain contact for Sales and BU leadership on customer service, order fulfilment, and service-related priorities, risks, and escalations.
  • Monitors BU order intake, order book health, service risks, and execution performance, and provides regular visibility to leadership on pacing, constraints, and required actions.
  • Drives issue resolution across customer service, logistics, warehousing, invoicing, and shared services to protect OTIF performance and deliver a consistent customer experience.
  • Represents the BU in supply chain process improvement initiatives and enforces compliance with global operational standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Provides first-line BU triage and escalation leadership for service and fulfilment issues, coordinating cross-functional actions through resolution.

PLANNING, AND SUPPLY PERFORMANCE LEADERSHIP:
  • Owns BU-level S&OP coordination and ensures alignment among demand, supply, and commercial priorities.
  • Coordinates with sites, suppliers, procurement, logistics, and regional teams to manage supply risks, inbound flow, replenishment priorities, and customer impact.
  • Drives cross-region inventory optimization, including target-setting, exception management, and actions to balance service, cost, and working capital.
  • Acts as a key supply chain partner to Sales and BU leadership.
  • Publishes and reviews BU supply chain performance metrics on a regular basis, highlighting risks, trends, and corrective actions.
  • Ensures compliance with global operational standards, procedures, and policies, and provides first-line BU triage for supply and inventory-related issues.

PERFORMANCE MONITORING AND REPORTING:
  • Defines, monitors, and improves BU supply chain KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, order book health, and service performance.
  • Provides BU-level reporting, insights, and communication to leadership on performance trends, risks, and improvement priorities.
  • Uses data-driven analysis to identify gaps, prioritize actions, and support decision-making across planning, customer service, and logistics.

MANAGERIAL AND HR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop both managerial and technical skills, personally and within the team.
  • Set clear, measurable goals for team members, and ensure regular follow-up using appropriate performance indicators.
  • Manage team's performance.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees in collaboration with the HR department.
  • Ensure a structured onboarding process and tailored support for new hires
  • Foster employee engagement by building a climate of trust, delegating appropriately, providing constructive feedback, and supporting professional development.
  • Implement disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth communication and effective coordination across business functions.
  • Maintain regular, clear, and transparent communication with the team, peers, and senior management.

The salary range for the position of Global Supply Chain Manager, Specialty Chemicals is $135,000 - $165,000 per year. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.
Required Experience & Knowledge
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, customer service, planning, or related operational leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional supply chain activities in a complex, multi-site, and/or international environment.
  • Prior people leadership experience, including direct or matrix team management, is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • Professional supply chain certification (e.g., ASCM/APICS) is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical capability and advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and supply chain technology tools; experience with Sage is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of customer service, logistics, inventory management, and S&OP processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-changing, international business environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, data analysis tools, and supply chain performance management.
