About CandleScience
CandleScience creates and sells candle-making supplies to hobbyists and small businesses across the country. We develop and distribute high-quality raw materials, fragrance oils, waxes, containers, equipment, and other supplies used by makers and businesses of all sizes.
With multiple distribution centers across the country, our warehouse teams play a critical role in getting the right products to our customers safely, accurately, and on time.
We are looking for motivated, dependable Warehouse Operations & Fulfillment Associates to join our Durham, NC distribution center.
This is a hands-on warehouse position for someone who enjoys staying active, working with a team, learning new skills, and being part of a fast-paced operation where everyone contributes to getting the job done.
The Role
As a Warehouse Operations & Fulfillment Associate, you will support the daily operations of our distribution center. Depending on business needs, you may work across several areas of the warehouse, including:
  • Order fulfillment picking/ packing and shipping
  • Replenishment, put-away, inventory and cycle counts
  • Freight and LTL shipments
  • Other warehouse and operational functions as needed

What You'll Be Doing
  • Accurately pick customer orders using warehouse systems and equipment
  • Pack orders safely and efficiently according to established standards
  • Prepare orders for UPS, USPS, freight, and other carriers
  • Replenish inventory and maintain organized warehouse locations
  • Perform inventory counts and help maintain inventory accuracy
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely after completing required training
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements
  • Work efficiently while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Communicate with leads, supervisors, and teammates regarding priorities and issues
  • Assist other departments and warehouse functions when business needs require it
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and help the team find better ways to work

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
This is a physically demanding, active warehouse position. Candidates should be comfortable being on their feet and moving throughout the facility for the majority of their shift.
  • Expect to walk approximately 10-12 miles during a typical workday, depending on assignments and order volume
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb steps, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 55 lbs. repeatedly
  • Ability to safely push, pull, carry, and maneuver materials throughout the warehouse
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and productivity
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to work safely around warehouse equipment, carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment

What We're Looking For
Required
  • Previous warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or similar work experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to understand and perform pick/pack/ship operations
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to walk and remain active for extended periods of time
  • Basic computer skills and comfort learning warehouse technology
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

No forklift or RF scanner experience? That's okay. We are willing to train the right candidates who have the interest and ability to learn how to operate forklifts and warehouse technology safely.
