Job description

Fuel Truck Driver (Construction)
Tinian Island, Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, United States
Job Description
Plays a crucial role in keeping projects running smoothly. Responsibilities are similar to a general fuel truck driver, but with an emphasis on supplying fuel directly to construction equipment and machinery on job sites.
Responsibilities
• Safely operate a fuel truck to transport various types of fuel, such as diesel, gasoline, and sometimes propane, to construction sites.
• Navigate sometimes rough or uneven terrain on construction sites to reach equipment in need of refueling.
• Operate the truck's pump and meter system to accurately dispense fuel into construction equipment tanks.
• Maintain detailed logs of fuel deliveries, including quantities dispensed to each piece of equipment.
• Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working order, checking brakes, lights, tires, and any leaks.
• Follow established safety protocols and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for transporting hazardous materials.
• Communicate effectively with construction site supervisors, equipment operators, and dispatchers to coordinate fuel deliveries.
• May assist with minor maintenance tasks on the fuel truck or perform basic equipment checks on construction machinery (depending on the employer).
Qualifications
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a minimum Class B classification (endorsements may be required depending on the specific tank size and weight). Hazmat endorsement is typically required for transporting flammable liquids like gasoline and diesel fuel. Can be national equivalent.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience operating a fuel truck (typically 1+ years). Experience in construction environments is a plus.
• Strong understanding of safe driving practices and hazard communication.
• bility to work independently and manage time effectively to meet refueling needs on construction sites.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various construction personnel.
• Physically capable of performing tasks that require bending, lifting, climbing, maneuvering hoses and couplings, and potentially working on uneven terrain.
• Knowledge of different construction equipment and their fuel types (may be preferred by some employers). Work Environment:
• Fuel truck drivers in construction primarily work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• The job can involve irregular hours depending on construction project schedules.
• Travel between different construction sites is common.
• dherence to safety regulations is essential for this role, as fuel products are hazardous materials, and construction sites can have additional safety hazards.
