The Technical Project Manager leads high-stakes fuel system projects from underground storage tanks to industrial fuel handling and mission-critical monitoring systems, ensuring compliance, precision, and zero-downtime execution. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and rooted in technical leadership. Theyre looking for a proactive problem solver who understands how to build and maintain fuel infrastructure. Someone who can interpret engineering drawings, manage complex installations, and communicate confidently with clients who rely on fuel accessibility 24/7. Salary Range: $80,000 $100,000 / Year DOE

Fuel Systems Technical Project Manager Responsibilities:

Lead turnkey fuel system projects from planning through commissioning and closeout

Verify system designs: tanks, pumps, piping, filtration, dispensers, controls

Conduct onsite visits for quality checks, milestone verification, and issue resolution

Manage permitting, compliance documentation, and regulatory priorities

Interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate installation

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software system issues

Oversee testing, calibration, and commissioning activities

Create and maintain project schedules with labor and equipment plans

Monitor progress, change orders, daily reports, and productivity metrics

Work with purchasing to source pumps, controls, sensors, piping, and fittings

Validate structural and material submittals to meet NFPA, EPA, UL, and API compliance

Maintain RFIs, MOPs, JHAs, and closeout packages

Serve as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders

Track budgets, cost exposure, and revenue forecasting

Enforce safety standards and site compliance

Fuel Systems Technical Project Manager Requirements:

2+ years of technical project management experience involving fuel systems

Deep working knowledge of tank systems, pumps, valves, piping, and leak detection

Ability to read and apply engineering drawings, P&IDs, and system schematics

Proven success leading site crews, subcontractors, and vendors

Strong cost control and scheduling skills

Self-driven, resourceful, and comfortable with real-time field decisions

Experience with Salesforce preferred

Familiarity with NFPA 30, API, UL, PEI RP1200, EPA fuel regulations preferred

Estimating experience preferred
