JOB DESCRIPTION:ย  RETAIL/FUEL CASHIER

Summary:

Provides an outstanding guest service experience in an enthusiastic and energetic fashion while meeting or exceeding guests expectations

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests and provide friendly, courteous and prompt service at the sales counter
  • Be proficient in all functions of the POS system.
  • Process all sales quickly and accurately.
  • Make change properly
  • Use credit card equipment
  • Be proficient in opening and closing a shift, including completing all paperwork
  • Insure all items are properly stocked and priced correctly.
  • Check in vendor delivery as assigned
  • Understand fuel inventory reports
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and perform simple maintenance.
  • Assist in keeping store neat, clean and organized.
  • Recognize problems and report them to management.
  • Responsible for all aspects of food operations and handling/storage of product. Complies with all food handling guidelines to meet or exceed state/federal regulations.
  • Ensure that all food products are stored properly, rotated and code dated with expiration dates.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations pertaining to the sale of tobacco, alcoholic beverages or non-alcoholic beverages containing cereal malt.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent Guest Service skills
  • Ability to follow directions, work in a fast paced, customer responsive environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with associates, management, vendors and guests
  • Ability to comply with local laws regarding food handling and sale of tobacco, alcoholic beverages or non-alcoholic beverages containing cereal malt
  • Demonstrates accuracy with POS procedures, ringing in sales, credit card and cash handling procedures.
  • Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
  • Minimum lifting, pushing and pulling of 50 pounds
  • Pushing, bending, stooping, walking, upward reaching, manual dexterity, seeing, hearing, writing, typing, verbal communication.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
