Overview

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Driver to operate a tractor-trailer and perform pneumatic tanker cement deliveries, as well as occasional fuel tanker runs (Hazmat endorsement required). The ideal candidate is professional, customer-oriented, and committed to maintaining high safety and performance standards.


Key Responsibilities

Pneumatic Tanker Deliveries

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer combination.
  • Pick up and drop off tractor-trailer at Durham location (Camden Rd) daily.
  • Secure cargo and deliver loads on time to all assigned locations.
  • Maneuver truck into loading/unloading positions and ensure equipment is properly aligned.
  • Load/unload freight according to handling specifications.
  • Complete all required daily documentation and inspections in the FLEETIO application.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service at all delivery sites.
  • Complete additional paperwork and other duties as assigned.

Hazmat Fuel Tanker Responsibilities

  • Drive fuel tanker to supply our Raleigh and Durham locations, and occasionally Wilmington.
  • Follow all required testing procedures at designated fuel sites.
  • Must maintain a valid, up-to-date Hazmat endorsement; without it, driver is not eligible for fuel tanker operations.
  • Complete DVIRs daily, identical to pneumatic trailer requirements.
Requirements:

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience
  • Valid CDL Class A license
  • Valid Hazmat endorsement (required for fuel tanker duties)
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb onto tanker trailer to open/close hatches
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
  • Must be able to walk, stoop, and bend for vehicle inspections
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Must always wear required PPE while outside the vehicle

Work Environment & Physical Expectations

  • Operate a large tractor-trailer (approx. 48 ft) daily
  • Frequent sitting while driving
  • Walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing required for inspections and loading
  • PPE required at all times outside the cab
  • Drivers represent the company at customer locations and must maintain professional conduct
  • Minimal interaction with other drivers

**This Job Position is Paid Per Load**

Pay rate is determined based off of experience ($22-$28 per hour), hourly rate is given to determine per load pay
