Honeywell Aerospace Technologies is seeking an Advanced Project Engineer who is ready to imagine, design, and develop innovative products and systems as part of a highly collaborative, high-performing engineering team.
In this role, you will work across Honeywell Aircraft Fuel Systems engineering teams to develop solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle, from concept through production, while working alongside a team of skilled professionals whose expertise drives the success of our engineering programs. Honeywell also offers a robust product orientation training program to support your success.
You will play a key role in shaping cutting-edge aerospace technologies, contributing to advancements that improve safety, performance, and sustainability in aviation.

Responsibilities
• Apply strong technical expertise in fuel controls, servo valves, and related technologies, including aircraft interfaces, subsystems, and platform-level applications
• Develop and manage detailed program plans, including creating engineering estimates to support new business opportunities
• Support Phase 6 (production) engineering activities for the Rocky Mount, NC manufacturing facility, including travel up to 25% as needed
• Lead structured failure investigations using tools such as Fault Tree Analysis, Fishbone diagrams, RCCA, and FMEA to identify root cause and drive corrective actions
• Anticipate the needs of internal and external customers by proactively communicating technical issues, providing timely updates, and seeking feedback for continuous improvement
• Partner with the business team in key areas, including: Product strategy roadmaps, technical proposal development (volumes), and development programs
• Communicate clearly and consistently with customers and internal teams using established Honeywell processes
• Make sound, timely decisions in high-pressure situations with limited data, applying risk-based thinking and engineering judgment
• Maintain composure and effectiveness in fast-paced, changing environments while engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from technical contributors to senior leadership
• Collaborate across diverse teams, driving alignment and encouraging progress toward customer and business objectives, even in complex or sensitive situations
• Work independently with guidance from senior and lead engineers as needed
• Focus on building deep technical expertise and product knowledge through hands-on project experience
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• 2+ years experience in applying advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to complex engineering projects
• 2+ years experience managing engineering projects autonomously and without supervision

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Systems Engineering
• Ability to critically think and solve problems and communicate effectively
• Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
• Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
• Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness
• Demonstrated mastery experience with design tools appropriate for the work (Python, MS Office Suite, MS Project)
• Demonstrated leadership experience in coordinating and overseeing successful projects
