East West Tea is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Quality Compliance Manager to join our Quality team!

The Quality Compliance Manager will be a dynamic role leading compliance with US regulations for Food Safety systems through supervision and development of a team of quality specialists. Involving strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to build trust and strong relationships to uphold compliance standards and ensure the integrity of Food Safety related systems.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL OWN:

Team Leadership and Development 35% of time

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and performance management for the Document Control Specialist, Quality Assurance Specialist, Customer Quality Specialist, and Supplier Quality Specialist
  • Ensure team functions are performed accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Foster a team culture of quality ownership, structured problem-solving, and proactive compliance; model and reinforce โ€œbest-in-classโ€ behaviors
  • Coordinate team workload during peak audit periods; provide coverage guidance and escalation pathways for complex issues

Facility Audit Readiness and Support 25% of time

  • Maintain year-round audit readiness across documentation, training records, batch records, facility conditions, and SOPs in coordination with the Quality Manager and the specialist team
  • Coordinate pre-audit preparation activities, including mock audits, gap assessments against applicable standards (21 CFR Part 111, BRC, NOP), and departmental readiness briefings
  • Support post-audit corrective action processes: assist in root cause analysis, coordinate CAPA assignment through the Quality Assurance Specialist, and track implementation to closure

Quality Management System Oversight 20% of time

  • Review and approve significant document revisions, new SOPs, and quality program changes before implementation; coordinate communication and training with the Document Control Specialist
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert and escalation point for GMP compliance, regulatory interpretation, and quality system questions from operations, R&D, and procurement
  • Lead or coordinate continuous improvement initiatives within the quality function; compile project plans and facilitate cross-functional team meetings to ensure timely resolution

Cross-Functional Leadership and Reporting 20% of time

  • Report to the Quality Manager and Director Quality on the state of the specialist teamโ€™s functions, QMS performance, audit readiness status, and significant quality issues
  • Prepare and present regulatory documents, compliance letters, and management review materials as directed by the Quality Manager
  • Maintain relationships with relevant certification bodies, industry associations, and internal cross-functional partners

WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in food science, biological sciences, or a related field required
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent auditing credential preferred; PCQI certification preferred
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in quality assurance or regulatory compliance within food and/or dietary supplement manufacturing
  • Minimum 2 years of direct people management or team leadership experience in a regulated quality environment
  • In-depth knowledge of 21 CFR Part 111 (dietary supplement cGMP) and 21 CFR Part 110/117 (food cGMP/ FMSA)
  • Familiarity with BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and USDA National Organic Program (NOP) requirements
  • Broad knowledge of GFSI- recognized standards (BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000) and HACCP/food safety management systems
