Job Description
This position supports Quality Assurance activities of X-energy/TRISO-X fuel projects, including documenting, implementing, and maintaining ISO-9001 and ASME NQA-1 requirements. The role ensures compliance with applicable NRC requirements for all project activities and is responsible for complex administrative and technical quality decisions. Applies advanced knowledge, understanding, and experience in the functional discipline and its practical application, industry codes, guidelines, and regulations. Actively champions the safety culture and Quality Assurance activities associated with X-energy/TRISO-X fuel projects related to supply chain activities and fuel qualification programs.
Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:
  • Leads the identification, establishment, implementation, and maintenance of the TRISO-X Quality Management System.
  • Leads the development of operational quality control processes and tests.
  • Defines and verifies sampling plans and inspection of products.
  • Oversees product quality control processes, including process revision and coaching quality control personnel.
  • Leads development of equipment onboarding and production qualification of manufacturing facilities.
  • Leads development of quality assurance and quality control documents and records.
  • Reviews and synthesizes audit findings and product non-conformances, driving process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Resolves complex quality problems and proposes robust recommendations/solutions.
  • Oversees registration, follow-up, and tracking of Corrective Action Requests.
  • Leads collaboration with TRISO-X staff to facilitate supply chain, engineering, and process methodologies.
  • Plans and conducts internal quality surveillances and audits.
  • Oversees and conducts project-related supplier audits/surveillances.
  • Analyzes and interprets statistical information for quality improvements.
  • Develops, delivers, and promotes appropriate company quality training.
  • Implements TRISO-X Quality Assurance Plans and Program and ensures their effective application.
  • Leads and supports the evolution and improvement of the TRISO-X Quality Assurance Program over the life of the program.
  • Oversees control of measurement, inspection, and test equipment, including calibration, tracking, and storage.
  • Serves as a key Quality Assurance point of contact to the TRISO-X Fuel Project Quality Manager and project leadership.
  • Plays a leading role in ensuring safety and quality culture is promoted and continually improved.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) or related field from an ABET-accredited college or university. Additionally, non-STEM degrees (e.g., business management, supply chain, project management, quality, technology associate degrees, etc.) will be considered in conjunction with prior work experience and training on a case-by-case basis.
  • Typically, five years or more of relevant Quality Assurance experience.
  • Demonstrated high level of motivation, organization, attention to detail, and energetic approach to job duties and requirements.
  • Proven ability to work independently and to lead work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and capability to grasp and apply detailed concepts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various types of personnel, from equipment operators and engineers to managers and Directors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and facilitation and implementation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite applications.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience applying quality assurance and nuclear manufacturing requirements and regulations strongly desired. Examples include 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR Part 70, 10 CFR Part 71, and ISO 9001.

Work Site Expectations: 5 days a week in office
Travel Expectations: up to 10% as needed
Hours: Standard office schedule are 8:00am-5:00pm ET, Mon-Fri
Compensation

Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions.
