• $90,000 - $92,000+ annually
• Paid weekly
• Home daily

Schedule

• Saturday & Sunday: 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Monday & Tuesday: 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM
• Days off rotate between Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
• Must be available to work every weekend
• Combination of day and night shifts

• Prescription Safety Glasses Reimbursement Position Summary The Operations Supervisor/Lead Dispatcher is responsible for leading and coordinating daily locomotive fueling and servicing operations supporting Norfolk Southern Railroad at the Southeast Chicago location. This role oversees dispatching, operational planning, safety compliance, equipment readiness, and fueling activities while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. Essential Duties &

Responsibilities

Operations & Dispatch

• Coordinate daily fueling and locomotive servicing operations.
• Dispatch drivers in response to customer requests.
• Plan staffing, equipment usage, and operational logistics.
• Perform data entry and maintain operational records and reports.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on company equipment.
• Maintain accurate Hours of Service records and timekeeping documentation. Fueling & Locomotive Servicing
• Receive and issue fuel according to company procedures.
• Safely transfer fuel using approved spill prevention methods.
• Perform locomotive servicing, which may include:
• Checking and adding lube oil
• Checking and adding cooling water
• Checking and adding crankcase oil
• Filling locomotive sand hoppers
• Cleaning locomotive cabs and removing trash
• Complete accurate fuel accounting using onboard computer systems. Safety & Compliance
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures without exception.
• Wear required PPE at all times.
• Utilize Blue Flag worker protection when required.
• Comply with all customer and company safety rules.
• Report incidents, spills, and safety concerns promptly.
• Support the company's commitment to zero spills, zero injuries, and zero property damage. Team Leadership
• Promote professionalism, reliability, and teamwork.
• Assist with maintenance and upkeep of vehicles and equipment.
• Provide support and guidance to team members as needed.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required

• Class A or Class B CDL
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong computer and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to pass all company, customer, and government-required background checks
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Preferred
• Previous dispatch experience
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience
• At least one year of locomotive fueling and servicing experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb regularly
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to walk long distances when necessary
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Comfortable working around liquid non-hazardous and dry bulk materials
