 Position purpose: StoneX is seeking a motivated Energy Risk Management Consultant to join our commercial energy team. This role focuses on developing and managing relationships with fuel distributors, propane marketers, refiners, manufacturers, agricultural cooperatives, and other energy consumers. The consultant will serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients understand market risk and implement strategies to manage exposure to crude oil, diesel, gasoline, and propane price volatility.Responsibilities

Primary duties will include:

  • Identifies, prospects and contacts potential clients to educate them on energy trading and risk management.
  • Build a book of business consisting of consultancy program income as well as energy futures trade income.
  • Analyzes individual client operations to determine market exposure, price sensitivity and financial risks.
  • Attends trade conferences, seminars and symposiums to represent products, increase contact with existing client base and identify new opportunities.
  • Executes futures, options and Swaps that support energy risk management strategies.
  • Educate and inform customers of hedge opportunities
Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years of finance experience
  • Time management skills. Should be able to work well under pressure managing several time sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across all levels
  • Effective presentation and marketing skills
  • Ability to learn technical products and explain complex products in clear, simplified terms to prospective clients

What makes you stand out:

  • 3 years of experience in the energy industry and knowledge of crude oil, diesel, gasoline, and/or propane markets.
  • Background in fuel distribution, petroleum marketing, refining, supply and trading, energy procurement, commercial energy sales, or financial analysis 
  • Risk management experience

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Finance, Economics, or related field to include Business Management
  • Obtain Series 3 License within 60 days of hire (company sponsored)

Working style:

  • Full time/5x a week in office
  • Ability to travel
