Job description

Duties and responsibilities

-Conduct daily equipment checks and cleaning.

-Maintain consistent fuel supply on the walking floor to ensure uninterrupted fuel delivery to the boilers

-Report any abnormalities to the CRO and record issues on the Fuel Handler -Check Sheet and Heavy Equipment Inspection sheet.

-Assists the CRO through onsite inspection and operation of plant systems and gains the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve the next career progression level.

-Accountable to the CRO and ultimately the assistant plant manager and operates within the context and prescribed limits established by management

-Monitors plant operation through visual inspection.

-Performs light maintenance activities and supports operations as necessary

-Maintain work area in an organized and clean manner

-Performs miscellaneous tasks as directed by CRO

-Operate all equipment in a safe and acceptable manner.

-Demonstrates a high performance, safety focused, and achievement-oriented, manner of working.

-Ensures that assigned tools, equipment, and work area are properly maintained and secured.

-Assists Mechanical Maintenance, I&C and Operations as required time permitting

-Shall use Three-Way radio communication to ensure safe and reliable operation of the unit

-The fuel handler position is an entry level position; management’s expectation is that within six months after initial hire the fuel handler shall have a basic understanding and be able to explain all plant systems.
