Job description

Position: Software Engineer 4 - Contingent
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Duration: Contract
Job Overview:
In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. You will review and analyze multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Additionally, you will contribute to resolving complex and multi-faceted situations requiring a solid understanding of functional policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to meet deliverables. Collaboration and consultation with client personnel will be a key aspect of this role.
Responsibilities:

  • Consult on complex software engineering initiatives with broad impact.
  • Analyze and resolve multi-faceted software engineering challenges.
  • Collaborate with client personnel to meet deliverables and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and execute performance test strategies, plans, and reports.
  • Conduct automation testing and update performance scripts for scrum teams.
  • Analyze application performance metrics and identify bottlenecks for tuning.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
  • 7+ years of experience in performance testing of Java-based applications and distributed systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with JMeter and/or BlazeMeter for load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.
  • 5+ years of experience with Selenium for test automation and regression testing.
  • Proven experience in test case design, test script development, execution, and results analysis.
  • Strong understanding of application performance metrics and performance tuning.
  • Experience analyzing JVM, application server, database, and infrastructure performance.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with AI-assisted development/testing tools like GitHub Copilot or Devin.
  • Experience testing and validating applications for ADA (Accessibility) compliance.
  • Experience with Playwright for modern web application automation.
  • Experience writing and optimizing SQL Server queries for test data preparation and performance analysis.
  • Knowledge of application monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, or Grafana.

Pay Range: $65.00 - $70.00/hr on W2
