Job description

Eaton's AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Test Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be located at our Euclid, OH facility.
The Test Analyst Manufacturing Engineer, will be responsible for overseeing testing of fuel pumps and evaluating failure of pumps while continuously improving first pass yield, flexibility of testing, and digitization of data collection. This role also leads Manufacturing Engineering projects across the High-Performance Work Teams and will focus on execution and implementation of best practices, including process troubleshooting and continuous improvement, new product introduction, and automation. Execute strategic vision related to assigned functional responsibilities to include: cost out / overhead optimization, CONC/DPPM reduction, lead lean continuous improvement activities related to productivity, and waste reduction improvements. Interface as necessary with internal Customers, Supply Chain, Engineering, ELSS and other disciplines to assure safety, quality, and cost control.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
โ€ข Apply test procedures, structured Design of Experiments, cause-and-effect analysis, fishbone diagrams, and 8D problem-solving techniques. Develop, document, and maintain cost-effective testing processes for products of above-average complexity. Create and implement routers, process sketches, standard work, fixtures, and gauges to support the safe and efficient manufacture, assembly, inspection, and testing of aerospace hardware.
โ€ข Manage multiple projects across complex work teams.
โ€ข Interact with Design Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure design for manufacturability of new products. Participates in design review process, and acts as a liaison for products from inception through shipment to customer.
โ€ข Design, develop, and implement efficient testing procedures to produce high-quality production parts by improving first pass yield and digital data collection from testing.
โ€ข Develop, prepare and maintain complete cost-efficient manufacturing processes for product hardware of above average complexity in order to meet/exceed the departmental goals of L.U., MPS, scrap and lead time. Understand shop capacity planning related to equipment, processes and manning. Must be mindful of process and test capabilities and recognize organizational core competencies. Assists others in root cause and failure analysis as required.
โ€ข Determine all tooling, gauging, programing, and equipment requirements as needed.
โ€ข Optimize existing assembly and test utilization through upgraded and improved tooling, programming, and first pass yield.
โ€ข Provide support to floor issues across the manufacturing testing facility.
โ€ข Develop and implement acceptance criteria, procedure/work instructions, setup instructions, quality management alerts regarding assembly capabilities and training materials in accordance with internal/external requirements.
โ€ข Perform Maintenance of production routings and time standards related to changes in process or equipment.
โ€ข Assist Quality with root cause and corrective actions to resolve issues involving discrepant product or material and support efforts to create more consistent quality manufacturing.
โ€ข Participate in the procurement and start-up of new capital equipment (including payback and net present value analysis) for acquisition of equipment to support emerging and existing technologies as required.
โ€ข Conduct time studies, evaluate and maintain time standards.
โ€ข Support the planning, procurement, and maintenance of specialized tooling for all equipment to ensure constant availability to manufacturing as well as continuously improve the manufacturing process through upgrades and improvements to current tooling supply and sourcing.
โ€ข Promote culture of Continuous Improvement and understand lean manufacturing techniques as they apply to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer's expectations. Drive short-term and long-term improvements to achieve goals outlined on Value Stream Maps. Participate in kaizen events, i.e., set-up reduction, Standard Work, 5S, and problem-solving activities.

โ€ข Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
โ€ข Minimum of one (1) year technical experience in a testing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution.
โ€ข Minimum of five (5) years engineering experience in a testing environment with two (2) years related to failure analysis.
โ€ข Minimum of two (2) years experience leading manufacturing in a union environment.
โ€ข Design, operations, or manufacturing engineering experience.
โ€ข SPC and Six-Sigma principles.
โ€ข Experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
โ€ข LabView experience.
Skills:
โ€ข Excellent communication, people, and problem-solving skills.
โ€ข Ability to manage multiple projects/activities.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of test stand programming, PLC's, data collection, and six sigma evaluations.
โ€ข Keen knowledge of materials, eg. stainless steel, titanium, aluminum and mild steels, and how they behave under machining and heat treat.
