This role will be a contract to start with potential for conversion. Industrial Engineer I accomplishes goals by analyzing information and executing tasks as an individual contributor to support business activities.  This role will be focused on Resolution integration.

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing performance by leveraging Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies to improve space utilization, product flow, labor utilization, capacity, cost, throughput, and support safe, and scalable operations.

The Industrial Engineer partners closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Enterprise Excellence, and Supply Chain to ensure manufacturing processes meet cost, quality, delivery, and compliance requirements while supporting new product introductions, capacity, and volume growth.

  • Support Manufacturing Optimization & Layout Improvements.
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing layouts, work cell design, and space utilization to improve flow, throughput, and space capacity.
  • Design and implement future-state layouts supporting growth, new equipment, and new product introductions.
  • Develop standard work and workstation designs based on ergonomic, efficiency, and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Analyze Flow, Line Balance, & Capacity.
  • Perform line balancing using time studies, work sampling, and takt-based analysis.
  • Improve material flow, information flow, and WIP control across manufacturing operations
  • Conduct capacity modeling and labor planning to support demand changes and quoting activities.
  • Utilize data analytics to support decision-making and continuous improvement tracking.
  • Deliver Cost Improvement Projects.
  • Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities through labor optimization, layout improvements, material flow changes, and process simplification. 
  • Support should-cost modeling and margin improvement initiatives. 
  • Quantify financial benefits of improvement projects and track sustained results. 
  • Performs project and Operations support assignments; troubleshoots issues and develops solutions to routine technical problems with well-defined scope.

  • Uses standard processes, technical principles and concepts within the industrial engineering discipline. 
  • Contributes to the completion of routine and fundamental technical tasks, project and/or program assignments as a member of a team. 
  • Supports planning and improvement activities for new and existing  manufacturing processes, equipment, and test methods. Completes requisite supporting documentation per Quality System requirements. 
  • Perform time studies and data gathering/analysis to model and optimize cell, line, facility layouts for growth. 
  • Measures & model existing and future state scenarios for manufacturing capacity for medical device manufacturing cells, lines and facilities.
  • Supports the buildout and maintenance of global manufacturing capacity and space scenario planning models.
  • Develops strong working relationships with internal cross functional team members.
  • Exchanges standard technical information with colleagues and immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other engineers / technicians.
  • Maintains and updates detailed site and facility layouts in AutoCAD, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Assures safety and regulatory compliance of systems, by alerting manager to potential issues.

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering.
  • Previous hands on experience is strongly preferred.
  • Developing knowledge of engineering tools, processes, methodologies, and concepts, including lean and six sigma concepts and tools. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel to other Resonetics sites, up to 25%.

  • Familiarity with QSR or ISO 13485.
  • Prior experience or exposure to Lean/CI Principles, Systems and common tools.  Including: Line Balancing, Equipment Capacity modeling, 5S, 8 forms of waste, Value Stream Maps, Kaizen, WIP optimization, manufacturing cell-line-facility layout design & optimization, and data analysis highly desirable.
  • Prior experience or exposure to the Medical Device Industry and/or contract manufacturing highly desirable.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Power BI & Simulation software experience.

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $30-$40/hr.
