Job description

Overview

The Lead Fuel / Environmental Technician is responsible for inspection and maintenance of fuel system equipment. This position is 100% mobile supporting the assigned market area.

This is position will be home based out of the Pearland office.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspect dispensers and other fuel system equipment and make highly technical repairs using a parts inventory managed by the technician

  • Complete work orders assigned in the maintenance tracking system

  • Provide training and technical support to Buc-ee's Fuel/Environmental Technicians

  • Assist and oversee third-party service technicians, when directed

  • Work directly with store management on training maintenance staff to perform routine dispenser repairs using established procedures

  • Assist with regulatory compliance by performing required periodic inspections of fuel system sumps and associated equipment, by ensuring required site compliance documentation is current and complete, and by managing regulated waste storage areas

  • Check fuel meter calibration and oversee third-party contractor during meter calibration

  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

  • Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • A minimum of five years of relevant fuel system maintenance experience

  • Current or recent certifications in Veeder Root ATG, Franklin MagVFC, and Gilbarco or Wayne Dispensers

  • A satisfactory MVR is required

  • Occasional overnight travel required (2 - 5 nights per month)

  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to lift and move steel manway lids (some weighing 100 or more pounds) with or without assistance

  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl with prolonged walking/standing

  • Able to work a flexible schedule depending on the needs of the business; the typical workweek will be Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. During high workload periods, those hours may be extended beyond the normal workday and may, on limited occasions, require weekend work
