We’re growing—and we’re looking for a motivated Fiber Technician to be a core part of our network expansion. You will be instrumental in the build-out and maintenance of our advanced fiber network, delivering both technical excellence and outstanding customer experiences. Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Perform core fiber network duties, including the splicing of fiber optic cables in various outdoor conditions and demonstrating a working knowledge of both aerial and underground fiber network infrastructure.
  • Ensure documentation by maintaining a thorough knowledge of and accurately updating splicing schematics and spreadsheets, and taking precise splicing and field notes to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Execute end-to-end customer installations and repairs, performing independent fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installations, timely repairs, and installing service drops from the terminal to customer homes or businesses.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, diagnosing and resolving customer connectivity and service issues, including the installation and troubleshooting of residential and business VoIP services.
  • Conduct initial quality control inspections of new plant construction to ensure adherence to build standards and project specifications.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by providing an exceptional experience to customers through friendly, patient, efficient, and knowledgeable service regarding FTTP, gateways, and and WiFi.
  • Maintain safety and operational compliance, operating and maintaining a bucket truck safely in accordance with DOT and OSHA standards, and adhering to all safety protocols as outlined in the company handbook.

Experience/Knowledge Required:

  •  2+ years of relevant work experience in a field-based technical role (e.g., installer, electrician, HVAC, or other low voltage work)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck).
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
  • Successful completion of DOT physical.

Preferences:

  • General knowledge of telecommunications services, including internet, wireless, and phone systems.
