Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Acts as the Manager on Duty (MOD) when assigned and assists with other leadership duties.
  • Performs supervisory duties as directed by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, during periods when management is absent from the store. Fosters a positive work environment and adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Greets customers on sales floor; determines brand, type, and quality of merchandise desired; and assists customers to locate merchandise. 
  • Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet customer's needs, and emphasizes selling points of article such as quality and utility. Prints price labels.
  • Acts as cashier using POS system, receives payment or obtains credit authorization and bags merchandise for customer.  Lists out-of-stock items or special customer needs.
  • Communicates Out of Stock items or Special Orders with management.
  • Completes the audit envelope (including the cash spreadsheet and deposit). Handles all money and bank deposits in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Completes Daily Sales spreadsheet.
  • Approves returns and exchanges at the register within their approval level.
  • Places new merchandise on display; stocks shelves neatly according to product type, brand and size.  Rotates stock and checks for expired product.
  • Processes and prints price labels for store merchandise.
  • Prepares and maintains inventory of stock.  Conducts cycle counts and physical inventory from start to finish, including counting product and trouble shooting. Compiles reports on adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusals of shipment.
  • Assists with miscellaneous POS and Catapult tasks.
  • Helps maintain backroom organization and safety standards.
  • Assists in keeping the store’s cleanliness and sanitation (i.e. sweeping, mopping, washing windows, and cleaning restrooms) at or above standards set by the company.
  • Complies with safety and GMP requirements.
