Front End Software Engineer

On our team, you'll coordinate with User Interface ( UI ) and User Experience ( UX ) designers and back-end developers to create a seamless user experience using React. Working in a Lean Agile environment, your team will ensure accessibility for all users by developing a front-end that functions across browsers, platforms, and devices while meeting accessibility and security requirements. You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in sof tware development with front-end programming languages and web development stacks such as Python, React, Node.js, Next.js, or CSS
• Experience with TypeScript for scalable, maintainable front-end development
• Experience writing automated front-end tests, including unit, component, o r E2E, using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright
• Experience implementing performance optimization techniques such as code-splitting, lazy loading, or Lighthouse-based improvements
• Experience with user requirement gathering to inform UI designs
• Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
• Ability to apply best practices and WCAG and Section 508 compliance beyond basic requirements
• Ability to work in Git-based workflows, including PR reviews, branching strategies, and CI checks
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering field and 5+ years of experience in sof tware engineering, or 8+ years of experience in sof tware engineering in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with code reviews, system design, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies
• Experience with infrastructure as code languages such as Terraform
• Experience collaborating closely with designers on usability improvements
• Experience delivering front-end applications through cloud-native architectures such as hosting SPAs on S3 / CloudFront or serverless integration with Lambda or API Gateway
• Experience with modern CSS approaches such as Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, Emotion, or Sass
• Experience with CI / CD tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI for automating front-end build or test pipelines
• Knowledge of API Integration
• Knowledge of UX heuristics
• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
