Job description

Octagon Talent Solutions is seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP/Fiori Developer with hands-on experience in SAP Student Lifecycle Management (SLcM) to support a client in the higher education sector. This remote role involves developing and enhancing SAP S/4HANA 1909 solutions, with a focus on usability, performance, and integration using Fiori and Web IDE tools. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to collaborate across functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SAP SLcM Solution Development and Integration

  • Develop and maintain ABAP code to support SAP SLcM and S/4HANA implementations.

  • Implement responsive, role-based Fiori applications using Web IDE and SAP UI5 standards.

  • Integrate front-end Fiori apps with back-end S/4HANA data models (OData, CDS Views, BAPIs).

  • Ensure seamless operation and data flow across higher education business functions.

Developer Responsibilities


  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable ABAP code using Object-Oriented techniques.

  • Build and extend SAP Fiori applications using XML Views, Fragments, JSON Models, and custom controllers.

  • Apply UI/UX design principles to develop intuitive user interfaces.

  • Create and register OData services for real-time application connectivity.

  • Use Web IDE or Business Application Studio for front-end development and deployment.

  • Work with enhancements, BADIs, user exits, and custom reports as needed.

  • Optimize SQL statements and debug complex performance issues in S/4HANA environments.

  • Conduct peer code reviews and collaborate with QA teams for test coverage and validation.
