Focus: Front End

Overview
Our client is looking for a Senior UI Engineer to join the Advertising Regulation Technology (AdReg) team in Business, Legal, and Enterprise Systems. As the UI engineer on the team, you are responsible for building the user interface and front-end infrastructure by working with the engineering team, business users, product management, and cross functional partners. You will be reporting to the Director of Engineering for the AdReg team.

Responsibilities

Collaborate and Design

  • By working with the software engineers, UX designer and the product team, understand the various APIs and data sources involved, current UI architecture and its limitations.

  • Work with the business users and product manager to thoroughly understand business requirements for user interfaces and translate the emanating results into good technical UI designs.

  • Establish documentation of UI components, develop, and support technical specifications for all interfaces and user workflows.

  • Create a new front-end infrastructure to build a scalable UI framework.

Develop/Build

  • Design and develop responsive user interfaces and component libraries for new and existing features within the Angular framework.

  • Design and develop systems for data visualization, user interaction patterns, and seamless integration with backend APIs and business intelligence tools.

  • Implement accessibility standards and ensure cross-browser compatibility.

Additional Skill Expectations

  • Expertise in Angular for building responsive, user-friendly, and high-performance frontend applications.

  • Experience handling software upgrades, including upgrading Angular and ensuring compatibility with backend services.

  • Basic Linux troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues related to deployment or server-side performance.

  • Strong understanding of Agile processes (including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives).

  • Proficiency in writing unit tests, integration tests, and performance optimizations.

Document/Teach

  • Document the UI component library, design patterns, and development processes in our internal wiki to create a front-end knowledge repository.

  • Share/teach UI development best practices and Angular standards to other engineers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related front-end development experience with varied forms of UI frameworks and building scalable web applications.

  • A successful history of developing, optimizing, and maintaining Angular applications with TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.

  • Understanding of Front-end Engineering tools/frameworks and standards to improve the productivity and quality of output for other engineers across the team.

  • 5+ years of experience working in a technical environment with the latest technologies like Angular or React (Angular preferred).

  • Advanced working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and experience with responsive design and CSS frameworks.

  • Strong programming skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, and familiarity with backend technologies for API integration.

  • Experience with Playwright testing framework for end-to-end testing and test automation.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
