Job description

At PPRO, our mission is to simplify access to local payment methods and our vision is to enable the sale of goods and services to anyone in the world using their preferred way to pay. We empower partners such as Ant Group, PayPal and Stripe to access new markets, connect with more customers, and accelerate their growth.

Our strength lies in our diverse global team with 50+ nationalities and 10+ international locations- all united around one goal – to deliver the best possible products and services to our partners and customers. While our company mission is to keep innovating global commerce, our internal mission is to #chooseaction, #beopen, #thinkcustomer, #gofurther and #wintogether

The Purpose:

At PPRO, our Frontend Platform team is transforming how our products are built and shipped - unlocking a frictionless, scalable path to millions of customers worldwide. We own the end-to-end frontend architecture that powers dozens of dynamic brands and products across Latin America and Europe, through a modern micro frontend ecosystem using Module Federation.

Staff Software Engineers drive PPRO's most significant decisions, leaving a lasting impact on our technical strategies, system landscape, and culture. Operating within a cross-functional team, you will solve complex technical problems, lead architectural choices, and mentor fellow engineers while coding alongside them. Ultimately, you'll build the foundations of our micro frontend platform, shaping how independent teams ship UI at scale without stepping on each other's toes.

What you’ll do:
  • Help establish company wide technical standards and share best practices for frontend architecture
  • Design and evolve our micro frontend platform, including Module Federation setup, shared dependency strategy, and cross-team contracts
  • Deliver large, cross-team/cross-domain projects and initiatives spanning multiple independently deployed frontends
  • Own products and services end-to-end, from requirements till deployment in our production systems
  • Collaborate and grow in a dynamic and autonomous environment while working in small, agile and cross functional teams
  • Be the technical lead of a team, and shape its culture and ways of working. Common practices include agile methodologies, pair and mob programming
  • Drive frontend performance, reliability, and developer experience across a distributed team topology
  • Use the latest technologies to solve real problems for our customers at a massive scale
What we look for in you:
  • Mindset & Approach: A results-oriented, collaborative professional with a pragmatic approach to software delivery and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep hands-on experience in frontend engineering, with strong proficiency in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, and a solid grasp of clean code principles.
  • Micro Frontend Architecture: A proven track record designing, building, and maintaining micro frontend systems at scale, including Module Federation (Webpack or Vite-based), shared component/design systems, and independently deployable frontend applications.
  • System Design: Experience designing scalable, high-availability frontend architectures and the runtime/build contracts that let multiple teams ship independently without breaking each other.
  • Cloud & Delivery: Strong familiarity with modern frontend build/deploy pipelines and cloud-native environments—preferably AWS (or comparable experience with Azure/GCP) - including CDN-based deployments and CI/CD workflows for federated frontends.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a knack for breaking down complex technical challenges into practical, maintainable solutions.
  • Communication: Professional working proficiency in English, with the ability to articulate technical ideas clearly and collaborate effectively across a diverse team.
Some of the technologies you'll get to work with:
  • React (latest versions), TypeScript
  • Module Federation (Webpack 5 / Vite)
  • Modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack)
  • Design systems and shared component libraries
  • Cloud-native systems (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)
  • CI/CD for independently deployed micro frontends
What's in it for you?
  • Hybrid working: We offer a hybrid structure with a 3 days / week on site expectation, so you can strike the balance between office and home working. In addition to our 30-day holiday allowance, we also provide a work from abroad policy, enabling employees to work remotely for up to another 30 days per year.
  • Learning and Development: We offer a €1,000 annual budget to support your professional growth—because investing in your development benefits us all. In addition, we provide leadership cafés, on-the-job training, and other opportunities to help you grow your skills and thrive in your role.
  • Insurance: Because better safe than sorry - we want our employees to benefit from various insurances including accident insurance, disability insurance, direct insurance (bAV) and travel insurance.
  • Enhance Family Leave: We understand the importance of family - that's why we offer enhanced family leave to support you during key life moments.
  • Gym membership: PPRO helpscontribute towardsthe costs of your gym membership, supporting your physical fitness journey while easing the burden on your wallet.
  • Mental Health Platform: We’ve teamed up with a top well-being platform to provide one-on-one therapy, chat therapy, therapist-led courses, guided meditations, and more.
  • Our office: Located on St.-Martin-Straße, one stop from Ostbahnhof on the 3 and 7 S-lines. The office is situated in a modern and spacious building with fully multimedia-equipped meeting rooms for up to 30 people. The 4th floor features a kitchen and a lunch area, providing a comfortable space for meals and breaks.
  • Pet-friendly office: Because work is better with your paw-tners by your side
Our Principles:
  • We get things done: We are courageous; we take ownership, make decisions and get things done.
  • We act with trust and integrity: We listen first and challenge respectfully. We seek out and leverage diverse perspectives. We welcome and offer honest and open feedback, always assuming positive intent.
  • We put the customer first: We are laser focused on delivering outstanding outcomes for our customers. We put the customer at the heart of what we do.
  • We make things better: We boldly explore new ideas and have an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement.
  • We work as a team: We collaborate closely and value team success over individual achievement.
