The team delivers responsive, accessible, and client-focused web applications while supporting ongoing feature enhancements and modernization initiatives Reason the role is open. - Additional development capacity required to support ongoing BAU feature development and increased demand across multiple front-end development squads

Two contingent resources are being hired What project will this contractor be working on. - BAU feature development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise web applications within CIBC's Digital Web Development environment, supporting responsive web experiences and integrations with native applications. Potential for this contract to be extended or converted to FTE.

FTE: Possible Extension: Possible Office Location: 81 Bay Street Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 37.5 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday Potential for OT. -Front-End Developers - Chapter Leads - Senior Developers -Product Teams -Application Consultants - Technical Stakeholders - Digital Delivery Teams How many years of experience. 5-10+ Job Description: - The Senior Front-End Developer / Team Lead is responsible for leading the technical design, development, and integration of enterprise web applications while contributing hands-on development expertise. The successful candidate will serve as a senior individual contributor capable of driving work independently, mentoring team members, participating in code reviews, and delivering responsive, accessible, and scalable web solutions.

- This role will focus primarily on front-end web development and responsive web applications while collaborating closely with backend teams and native application teams where integrations are required. The candidate will participate in feature development, application enhancements, technical planning, release activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise web applications.

Lead and contribute to front-end development initiatives using modern JavaScript frameworks. Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and application architecture decisions. Build responsive and accessible user experiences aligned with enterprise standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital solutions. Support release management and deployment activities. Mentor developers and promote development best practices.

Drive work independently with minimal onboarding or supervision. Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and development processes. Must Have Requirement: 5+ years of front-end web development experience.

Strong JavaScript development experience. Strong HTML5 and CSS/SCSS experience. Experience with Vue.js OR comparable modern front-end frameworks (React preferred as a transferable skill set)

Experience working with state management libraries such as Pinia, Vuex, Redux, or similar. Experience with Git/GitHub source control and modern development workflows. Experience working with Node.js packages and front-end build tooling

Experience building responsive web applications. Strong knowledge of web accessibility standards. Experience participating in release management and deployment processes.

Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior-level independent contributor with minimal ramp-up time. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Nice to Have: Pinia experience.

Mobile, hybrid mobile, or native application development experience. Knowledge of REST APIs and JSON integrations. Unit testing and UI automation testing experience.

Banking or financial services experience. Team lead or mentorship experience. Experience supporting enterprise-scale digital platforms.
