Front-End Software Developer 

Position Summary 

KēSTA I.T. is seeking a Front-End Software Developer to support the continued development of a large-scale enterprise application. This individual will work as an integrated member of an Agile development team responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering new application features while helping maintain a high-quality user experience. 

This role blends front-end software engineering with quality assurance responsibilities. The successful candidate will participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, feature development, manual and automated testing, bug resolution, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate embraces Agile methodologies and enjoys collaborating closely with product owners, designers, QA engineers, and fellow developers. 

The team also encourages the thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, software quality, and delivery speed.  

Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain front-end application functionality.  
  • Perform both manual and automated testing of application features.  
  • Analyze customer feedback to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects.  
  • Create, document, and manage bug reports and feature requests.  
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including:  
  • Sprint Planning  
  • Daily Standups  
  • Sprint Reviews  
  • Backlog Refinement  
  • Collaborate with designers, product owners, and technical stakeholders to refine user stories and acceptance criteria.  
  • Estimate development work using Agile story points.  
  • Contribute to release planning and roadmap discussions.  
  • Assist with technical spikes, prototypes, and proof-of-concept development to reduce technical risk.  
  • Help prioritize backlog items based on business value and technical considerations.  
  • Demonstrate completed work during sprint reviews.  
  • Produce high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code.  
  • Leverage AI development tools where appropriate to improve engineering efficiency and software quality.  
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver features on schedule.  

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.  
  • Professional software development experience.  
  • Experience developing modern front-end web applications.  
  • Understanding of software development best practices.  
  • Experience participating in Agile/Scrum environments.  
  • Experience performing software testing and quality assurance activities.  
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.  
  • Experience managing defects and working from prioritized backlogs.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to estimate work and meet sprint commitments.  
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks.  
  • Experience with manual software testing.  
  • Experience working on enterprise-scale applications.  
  • Experience participating in release planning and roadmap development.  
  • Experience creating technical prototypes or proof-of-concepts.  
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar).  
  • Experience working directly with product owners and UX/design teams.
