Job description

Apartment building close to Millennium Park has an opening for a Doorperson/Front Desk Concierge.

Hours:

Monday: 11pm-7am
Tuesday: OFF
Wednesday: OFF
Thursday: 11pm-7am
Friday: 11pm-7am
Saturday: 11pm-7am
Sunday: 11pm-7am


Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting residents, visitors, screening and announcing guests, enforcing building security;
  • Monitor front door to be aware of all building activity โ€“ avoiding loitering in lobby and doorways;
  • Receiving, sorting, and distributing packages at the desk to residents;
  • Answering phone calls both for current location and as the emergency desk person for the several buildings;
  • Dispatching calls to maintenance employees and/or Property Managers within the organization when there is an emergency situation;
  • Entering information in to the building systems (i.e. work orders, etc.);
  • Ensure work area is clean and presentable at all times;
  • Periodically check all common area doors and emergency exits to make sure they are closed and locked;
  • Become familiar with residents in order to know who belongs in the building and in order to build a positive experience for our residents;
  • Responsible for key control โ€“ including signing out keys to personnel and contacting maintenance if there is a lock out at the building;
  • Monitor fire alarm alert system throughout shift and respond appropriately;
  • Monitor elevator activity and service;
  • Assist with resident key distribution and collection for those moving in and out;
  • Complete paperwork timely as required by the Property Manager.

Requirements include:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience as a doorperson of a residential building with strong customer service skills.
  • Proven customer service skills and experience.
  • Communicates clearly in English, this includes the ability to read/write instructions in English.
  • Computer literate. Minor typing and email is required.
  • Ability to work with other staff members and be able to take direction from supervisor.
  • Flexible schedule to work weekends, night shift and/or overtime.
  • Must have high energy, friendly personality and willingness to work hard.
  • Punctual and reliable

Pay Rate: $22.50 per hour
