Job description

Job Summary:
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, relationship-driven Recreational Marine Producer to drive growth within our Yacht & Marine segment. This market-facing role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, cultivating centers of influence, and delivering tailored risk management and insurance solutions to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients with marine exposures.
The ideal candidate brings deep marine industry relationships, a consultative sales approach, and a passion for serving clients with complex lifestyles and assets. This individual will work closely with Private Risk advisors, commercial producers, carrier partners, yacht brokers, marinas, and other industry professionals to expand our market presence and generate profitable growth.
Business Development & Production
• Develop and execute a strategic business plan to achieve individual new business and revenue goals.
• Identify, pursue, and close new Recreational Marine opportunities.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
• Leverage existing relationships and establish new connections within the marine community to drive referrals.
• Partner with Lockton Commercial Producers to identify cross-selling opportunities among business owners, executives, and affluent clients.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
• Conduct client and prospect meetings to assess exposures and provide consultative risk guidance.
• Design customized insurance and risk management solutions for yacht owners and clients with complex marine exposures.
• Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process, ensuring a high-touch client experience.
• Maintain long-term relationships with clients and referral partners to enhance retention and encourage additional opportunities.
Industry & Market Development
• Develop strategic relationships with yacht brokers, yacht managers, captains, marinas, marine attorneys, lenders, surveyors, and other centers of influence.
• Represent Lockton at boat shows, yacht events, marine conferences, and industry networking functions.
• Stay informed on emerging market trends, carrier developments, and evolving client needs within the marine sector.
• Promote the Lockton Recreational Marine brand through community engagement and thought leadership activities.
Carrier & Market Engagement
• Maintain strong relationships with foreign and domestic marine insurance carriers and underwriting partners.
• Collaborate with carrier representatives to negotiate competitive terms and secure optimal coverage solutions.
• Identify new market opportunities and specialty programs that enhance client offerings.
• Provide market intelligence to internal teams and clients.
Collaboration & Team Engagement
• Work closely with Client Executives, Account Managers, Risk Advisors, and Claims Professionals to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Participate in joint sales efforts with Commercial Producers to retain and deepen key client relationships.
• Share knowledge and marine expertise with colleagues across the Private Risk organization.
• Support broader Private Risk growth initiatives and strategic priorities.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of business development, sales, brokerage, underwriting, or advisory experience within the marine insurance industry
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
• Strong knowledge of recreational marine and yacht insurance products.
• Demonstrated success generating new business and achieving revenue goals.
• Established relationships within the recreational marine marketplace.
• Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
• Experience serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
• Existing relationships with yacht brokers, marinas, marine service providers, and carrier partners.
• Experience with vessels 70+ feet and complex marine placements.
• South Florida-based with an established recreational marine network.
Success Measures
• Achievement of annual sales and revenue objectives.
