With the partnership of our parent company, J.Gibson McIlvain and their centuries of lumber expertise we can source the finest materials and eliminate the quality control issues that come from multiple suppliers. Our stump to finished product reach allows for greater control of the quality but also greater insight into creative options and long-term sustainability of the materials used.


Description
The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machining equipment to produce high-quality wood components for custom millwork, cabinetry, and architectural woodworking projects. This position requires strong machine competency, sound understanding of multi-axis machining fundamentals, and the ability to troubleshoot complex operations to meet quality, safety, and schedule requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC routers and related woodworking machinery to manufacture parts according to shop drawings and specifications
  • Load, verify, and edit CNC programs as needed to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tool paths
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop safety standards
  • Coordinate with shop supervisors, programmers, and other operators to meet production deadlines
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience operating CNC equipment in a woodworking or manufacturing environment (or equivalent training)
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and specifications
  • Basic understanding of CNC programming concepts (G-code familiarity preferred)
  • Experience with CNC routers used for wood, MDF, plywood, veneers, and solid lumber
  • Familiarity with custom millwork, cabinetry, or architectural woodwork
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm
