Wood FinisherGig Harbor, WA | Full-Time | $20-$22/hour
About the PositionAt RealCraft, our Wood Finisher puts the final touch on every handcrafted door, mantel, and countertop we build, applying the right finish and catching anything that needs attention before it ships. If you have a steady hand, a good eye for color and detail, and take pride in sending out work that looks right, this is where that skill shows.
Who We AreRealCraft is a direct-to-consumer maker of premium solid wood doors and hardware in Gig Harbor, Washington. Every door is handcrafted on-site using traditional joinery and solid wood, for architects, designers, and homeowners across the US.
What You'll Do
  • Receive completed doors, mantels, or countertops from the production team.
  • Address small defects through re-sanding, color matching, or repair.
  • Determine the correct finish for each piece, referring to the sales order.
  • Apply finishes by hand (no paint booths) to doors and jamb kits as specified on the paperwork.
  • Conduct a final inspection before shipment.
  • Pad and wrap doors, preparing them for safe shipping.
  • Maintain storage and organization of finish products.
  • Pitch in on related tasks as needed: hanging doors, attaching hardware, installing silicone sweeps, and loading doors into crates

What We're Looking For
  • Reliable, on-time attendance.
  • Organized and tidy work habits.
  • Able to read and understand finish orders.
  • Ability to show initiative and problem solve.
  • Ability to take direction from supervisors.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

What We Offer
  • $20-$23/hour, Monday through Friday, consistent hours.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with RealCraft covering 80% of your medical premium.
  • Simple IRA with 3% company match after six months.
  • PTO starting day one, plus paid holidays and extra time off at Christmas.
  • Work boot allowance, referral bonuses, and bridge toll reimbursement for Narrows commuters.

Working Conditions
Full-time, on-site in Gig Harbor. The work is hands-on: you'll be on your feet, lifting up to 70 lbs, and working closely with finish products daily.
How to Apply
Submit your resume, and tell us a little about your finishing experience. We're looking for someone who takes pride in the details and wants to be part of a team building things worth building.
Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Our Mission
We're on a mission to eliminate the soullessness of mass production and spearhead a return to craftsmanship by using genuine materials, offering unparalleled customization, and building each door by hand with time- honored techniques.
Our Story
As a young carpenter, Don Rees was dismayed by the consumerism and conformity of the homebuilding industry. He wanted to build homes that were authentic and unique to each client. So Don started building custom timber frame homes in 1976. Don couldn't find ready-made doors that matched each client's style, so he started to make custom doors for each home as well.
This commitment to finding unique solutions led Don to create his first swing-out carriage garage doors on a home in 1995. Soon these solid wood carriage doors became a hallmark of his projects. Before long the demand for carriage doors became so great that Don decided to take the plunge and switch from home building to custom doors full time. That custom door business, Real Carriage Doors, evolved into what is now RealCraft.
Today, RealCraft builds custom, hand-crafted doors and hardware to help homeowners escape from the conformity of mass produced products and find the unique piece that will express their style and last for decades.
