Job description

Wildlife & Pest Control Technician

Job Summary

Wildlife & Pest Control Experts is looking for a dependable, hardworking person to join our team as a Wildlife & Pest Control Technician. This is a hands-on position helping homeowners and businesses solve wildlife, rodent, and pest problems.

Our technicians inspect properties, identify how animals or pests are getting in, remove or control the problem, and help prevent it from happening again. Our work includes rats, mice, squirrels, bats, raccoons, opossums, armadillos, and other nuisance wildlife, as well as common household pests such as ants, spiders, roaches, and termites.

This is not a desk job. You will work indoors and outdoors, in attics and crawl spaces, on ladders, and occasionally on roofs. Florida heat, cold, rain, dirt, and tight spaces are all part of the job.

Experience in pest control, wildlife removal, roofing, construction, or a similar trade is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person who is dependable, works well with others, and is willing to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect homes and businesses for wildlife, rodent, and pest activity.
  • Identify entry points, damage, nesting areas, and conditions that may be contributing to a pest or wildlife problem.
  • Remove or control nuisance wildlife and pests using approved methods and company procedures.
  • Perform wildlife exclusion work by sealing entry points and installing barriers to help prevent animals and rodents from returning.
  • Set, inspect, and maintain traps and other wildlife control equipment.
  • Apply pest control products safely and in accordance with label directions, company procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Work in attics, crawl spaces, around rooflines, and other areas where pests and wildlife may enter a structure.
  • Safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required for the job.
  • Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and properly maintained.
  • Clearly explain inspection findings, recommended solutions, and completed work to customers.
  • Complete service records and other required paperwork accurately.
  • Follow company safety procedures and all applicable wildlife and pest control regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and treat customers and their property with respect.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Able to regularly climb, kneel, crawl, bend, stoop, stand, and work from ladders.
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and other confined or difficult-to-access areas.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in Florida heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working around insects, rodents, wildlife, droppings, dirt, and other conditions commonly encountered in this type of work.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to follow instructions and work safely with limited supervision.
  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
  • Able to work well as part of a team and independently when needed.

Preferred Experience

Experience in pest control, wildlife removal, roofing, construction, home repair, maintenance, or another hands-on trade is a plus, but not required.

We are looking for someone with a good attitude, a strong work ethic, and the willingness to learn a skilled trade. If you take pride in your work, enjoy solving problems, and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, this could be a good fit.
