Job Description

At CD PROJEKT RED, we’ve built our legacy on rich worlds and storytelling from the epic tales of The Witcher to the dystopian future of Cyberpunk 2077. Now, we’re setting out on the next journey: to create a completely new IP which is Project Hadar. It is shaped by the same passion, quality, and vision that define everything we do.

We’re looking for people eager to bring their experience into something new and still taking form, those unafraid of creative exploration and bold decisions, teammates who want to make a meaningful impact on an emerging world. Join us as a new Senior Gameplay Designer.

Daily responsibilities

  • Proposing and documenting an innovative design for systems and features that follows the game direction.
  • Iterating and improving documentation for existing systems and features.
  • Designing, prototyping, scripting, and iterating on features using Unreal Engine 5.
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams on prototyping and implementation stages, ensuring that gameplay functionality, combat systems, and the overall gameplay experience are carried through to completion in the highest possible quality.
  • Taking ownership of specific features/systems of the game.
Qualifications
  • At least 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Proven success in creating and having ownership over gameplay processes like features and gameplay mechanics.
  • Experience in working with Unreal Engine 5 – prototyping, implementation and iteration.
  • Experience contributing to all stages of the AAA game development lifecycle — from planning and pre‑production through production, release, and post‑launch — on one or more projects.
  • Openness to receiving and giving feedback about your work.
  • Ability to include others in the design process.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑disciplinary teams and openness for changes and experimentation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to taking ownership, setting goals, exchanging knowledge and driving initiatives independently.
  • Passion for professional growth and staying updated on industry trends to understand what makes something intuitive, fun, and engaging.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Openness for changes and experimentation, high‑quality passion and a good sense of humor are appreciated.
