Assembler I

San Diego, CA – Onsite
$22.66/hr
2nd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Contract through 04/18/2027


Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembler I to perform hands-on assembly of mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic components in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of related assembly experience and be comfortable working from SOPs, work instructions, technical drawings, and specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly of components, wiring, cable harnesses, instruments, and other assemblies according to SOPs and work instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools, measuring equipment, fixtures, manufacturing aids, lifts, cranes, and limited automated equipment.
  • Perform testing, calibration, and verification activities on completed assemblies.
  • Accurately document test and calibration results.
  • Inspect components and finished products for quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues, discrepancies, and production problems.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, including material control, labeling, assembly records, and quality non-conformances.
  • Follow QMS, SOPs, GMP, FDA, ISO, and company requirements.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment.
  • May assist with training other assemblers after demonstrating proficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of related assembly/manufacturing experience.
  • Medical device, diagnostics, electronics, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience assembling mechanical, electrical, or electronic components.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, SOPs, and specifications.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools such as:
    • Screwdrivers
    • Wrenches
    • Power drivers
    • Measuring equipment
    • Other assembly tools
  • Experience with testing, inspection, calibration, or verification is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise work.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able to work onsite on the 10:00 PM–6:30 AM shift.
