Job Description

The Field Technician will perform engineering construction materials testing and inspections on active construction sites, focusing on quality control of concrete, soils, asphalt, and other materials. This role works primarily in the field, independently managing daily testing activities, documentation, and communication with project stakeholders while adhering to strict safety procedures and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly communicate any issues, nonconformances, or deviations from project plans and specifications to site supervisors and project managers.
  • Follow all corporate safety policies and job site safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Work directly on site with general contractors and construction teams, maintaining professional and effective communication with superintendents and other stakeholders.
  • Attend job site meetings as needed to discuss testing results, project progress, and any concerns related to materials quality or compliance.
  • Occasionally perform laboratory testing in office facilities to support field results and provide additional verification of materials performance.
  • Apply basic math skills to calculate measurements, interpret test data, and ensure accuracy in reporting and documentation.
  • Use clear writing and communication skills to produce professional reports and convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
