Job description

LSSI is hiring a Group Home Head Nurse/RN Trainer (Contract Only), to maintain excellent oversight of the client's healthcare including training of direct support personnel and follow DHS requirements.
SALARY:

  • This is a 1099 contract position (indefinite end date)
  • $30-32/hourly
Essential Functions:
  • Ensure Rule 116 is followed at all sites.
  • Provide supervision and training to RN Nurse Trainers on Rule 115 and 116.
  • Assist with and be knowledgeable of general health status of residents.
  • Review, track and participate in Quality Assurance for all medication errors.
  • Audit sites for compliance of Rule 115 and 116.
  • Review and update policies and procedures of LSSI and DHS/DDD.
  • On call availability for consultation.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
Position Qualifications:
  • Unencumbered Illinois Professional Registered Nurse license required.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Unencumbered Illinois Professional Registered Nurse license required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical professional experience within the past five (5) years required.
  • Ability to become and RN Nurse Trainer through DDD required.
  • Experience working with individuals with development disabilities preferred.
  • Experience providing leadership and training to nursing and direct care personnel preferred.
  • Participation in ongoing learning opportunities to keep skills current required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
  • Excellent organization sills and basic pc/computer skills, including experience using.
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software required.
  • Valid driver's license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
