Job description

Sinai Hospital's General Operating Room is a 12-room surgical department providing care across a broad range of specialties, including neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, surgical oncology, and a growing robotics service line. As a Level II Trauma Center, the OR operates 24/7 with a dedicated trauma room for immediate emergency surgical response, and partners with Infinite Legacy, Maryland's organ procurement organization, to support the organ and tissue donation process.

  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

About the Role/Unit:

The RN Team Leader in the Operating Room at Sinai Hospital serves as a clinical and operational leader, responsible for managing the day-to-day surgical workflow within the orthopedic service line. This role requires advanced perioperative nursing expertise, with proficiency in both circulating and scrub roles, as well as demonstrated leadership abilities.

This Team Leader would cover the Neurosurgery, Oral-Maxillofacial and Dental service lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and supports daily surgical operations within the orthopedic OR service line by identifying opportunities to streamline case flow, reduce delays, and improve first case on-time starts.
  • Participates in audits, quality initiatives, and implementation of evidence-based practices specific to orthopedic surgery.
  • Communicates equipment, supply, or process concerns to leadership and participates in improvement planning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 2 years of RN Operating Room experience
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) Registered Nursing license
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification
  • ACLS and PALS preferred

Pay Range: $40.12 to $62.19 Based On Experience
