Job description

Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

Weโ€™re accelerating our mission with the launch of Factory 3 in Mesa, Arizona, a 290,000-square-foot facility creating 350 new jobs. We are expanding rapidly to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to expand into naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian is backed by leading investors including T. Rowe Price, Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, our fast-growing team is united around reindustrializing American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond.

The Role

The CMM Programmer (PC-DMIS) will play a critical role in advancing Hadrianโ€™s automated inspection capabilities. You will program and optimize PC-DMIS routines for highly complex prismatic parts for the aerospace and defense industries, ensuring precision and reliability in our New Product Integration (NPI) and production workflows.

Unlike traditional shops, the programs you create will run on fully automated CMM cells designed to operate lights-out. This means your work must incorporate robust programming practices and controls to ensure reliability. Youโ€™ll also collaborate with our software automation teams, who have engineer layered controls to safeguard and standardize the programming approach.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the frontier of CMM automation and help shape the future of metrology in aerospace manufacturing

What You'll Do

  • Create and optimize PC-DMIS programs for New Product Integration (NPI) work orders

  • Interpret and apply GD&T requirements from engineering drawings; identify and resolve discrepancies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CMM technicians, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, CAM programmers) to drive inspection excellence

  • Design fixtures to support automated inspection

  • Troubleshoot PC-DMIS programs and improve Hadrianโ€™s internal specifications

  • Support prove-outs of highly complex geometries with custom probes and setups

  • Partner with software teams to identify and implement process improvements

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years of experience as a PC-DMIS programmer

  • 2+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings

  • Experience working in a machine shop with knowledge of metrology for subtractive manufacturing processes

What Will Set You Apart

  • PC-DMIS training (101, 201, or beyond)

  • Strong understanding of GD&T, datum structures, and tolerances (form, orientation, location, profile, runout)

  • CAD software experience (NX preferred)

  • Background as a machinist or exposure to 5-axis machining environments

  • PC-DMIS API / VB scripting expertise

  • Familiarity with automated inspection processes and integration of customer specifications

Benefits for Full-time Employees
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees

  • 401k

  • Relocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.

  • Flexible vacation policy

  • Equity
