Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team at the Child and Youth Behavioral Health Clinic, functioning as a Remote School-Based Mental Health Specialist in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide transformative mental health services tailored to school-aged children and adolescents, from the comfort of your own home. You will play a vital role in addressing the mental health needs of students, helping them to thrive academically and socially.

About the Organization

At our Child and Youth Behavioral Health Clinic, we are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to children and adolescents. We prioritize accessibility and actively work to create a supportive environment that fosters healing and personal growth. Our team consists of dedicated professionals with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD. We believe in a holistic approach that not only addresses mental health issues but also enhances personal development and resilience in young individuals.

Work Environment

This role allows you to work remotely, providing therapy within a school setting. While you will not be physically present in the schools, you will collaborate closely with school administrators, teachers, and parents to support students requiring mental health interventions. Flexible scheduling will allow you to accommodate the needs of your clients effectively, with some evening and weekend hours as necessary to ensure accessibility for students and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial evaluations to assess the mental health challenges, strengths, and available resources of students.
  • Utilize a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care to provide individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that set realistic goals and outline specific interventions for each student.
  • Engage in collaborative treatment planning with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, and educational staff to ensure well-rounded support for every child.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary, assessing risks and creating safety plans to protect students in distress.
  • Lead psychoeducational workshops and support groups that equip students and their families with skills and resources to manage challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Regularly review and update treatment plans to reflect each student's progress and changing needs.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on school-aged children and adolescents facing various mental health challenges. You will work with them to create a safe, nurturing environment that allows for meaningful conversations about their experiences. Your goal will be to empower students with coping strategies to navigate their emotions, enhance their social skills, and improve their academic performance.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a mental health or outpatient setting, preferably serving children and adolescents.
  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices and a strong understanding of child development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and assessment skills, enabling you to build rapport with diverse populations.
Preferred Experience

Experience working within a school environment is highly desirable, as well as proficiency in using telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions. Familiarity with local community resources for children and adolescents can further enhance your ability to support students effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to the salary, a sign-on bonus will be available for qualified candidates.

  • Comprehensive health insurance that encompasses medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement plans with employer matching to secure your long-term financial well-being.
  • Generous paid time off policy including vacation days, personal leave, and holidays.
  • Professional development opportunities to continually enhance your clinical skills and therapeutic practices.
  • Insurance coverage for liability and malpractice to protect your professional practice.
Career Growth Opportunities

We are committed to supporting your professional journey and encourage participation in continuing education and training. Opportunities for advancement within the organization allow for career growth, including pathways to supervisory roles and specialized training in advanced therapeutic techniques.

Why Join Our Team

Becoming a part of our Child and Youth Behavioral Health Clinic means joining a community of passionate professionals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and their families. Your work will contribute not only to individual growth and healing but also to the overall well-being of the local community.
