Location: Chicago, IL

Compensation: $140,000–$150,000 base salary

Schedule: Flexible / Hybrid / Work-from-Home flexibility

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing, vertically integrated real estate development organization. This is a developer-side opportunity where you will play a key role throughout the development and construction lifecycle of large-scale residential and mixed-use projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing construction projects from preconstruction through completion and be comfortable coordinating with architects, engineers, general contractors, consultants, municipalities, and internal development teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from initial development and preconstruction through construction, closeout, and turnover.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, and overall project execution.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Review plans, specifications, budgets, schedules, and project documents to identify potential issues and develop solutions.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication between ownership, design teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor construction progress, quality, costs, and schedule performance.
  • Manage RFI, submittal, change order, and payment processes.
  • Assist with project feasibility, budgeting, estimating, and value-engineering efforts during preconstruction.
  • Work closely with municipal agencies and local authorities throughout the development and construction process.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop strategies to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Conduct regular site visits and provide oversight of field activities and construction progress.
  • Assist with project closeout, inspections, punch lists, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Help evaluate and manage contractor and consultant relationships.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and improvement of the company's development and construction processes.

Ideal Background

  • 5+ years of experience in construction, real estate development, or project management.
  • Experience managing ground-up multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, or adaptive-reuse projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project schedules, budgets, and contracts.
  • Experience working with general contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.

What’s Offered

  • $140K–$150K base salary
  • Flexible/hybrid work schedule with WFH flexibility
  • Developer-side position with significant project ownership
  • Exposure to the full real estate development and construction lifecycle
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale multifamily and mixed-use developments
  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial work environment
  • Long-term career growth within a growing development organization
  • Strong project pipeline and opportunity to take on increasing responsibility
