Job description

The radiology division at our organization is currently seeking a diagnostic radiologist. This role is affiliated with the Department of Radiology at a prominent medical group.

Situated in the picturesque Southern California region known as the Inland Empire, our facility is conveniently located midway between Los Angeles and Palm Springs. This prime location allows for easy access to a variety of activities, including surfing at the beach, desert camping, mountain skiing, or enjoying a theatrical performance in Los Angeles, all within an hour's drive. Additionally, there are six major airports accessible within an hour.

The ideal applicant should have an interest in a diverse range of imaging studies, with mammography being optional. A radiology residency program, which includes an integrated clinical year, commenced in July 2022. Responsibilities will encompass teaching radiology residents, as well as conducting quarterly lectures for family and internal medicine residents. The role also involves engaging in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and scholarly activities. Our department is rapidly growing to accommodate over 200,000 imaging examinations annually and is continuously upgrading its equipment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for a portion of the full-time call coverage, which consists of 13 weeks dedicated to fluoroscopic studies, weekend film readings from home, and shared holiday coverage with the team. Currently, this includes an average of 1-2 shifts per week from home, with hours from 7 AM to 4 PM or 11 AM to 8 PM, while on-site work is from 8 AM to 5 PM. There are no scheduled shifts before 7 AM or after 8 PM, and backup coverage is readily available as needed.

Our organization is a 439-bed teaching hospital affiliated with a university, featuring over 60 primary and specialty care clinics throughout Riverside County. Medical students, residents from various specialties, and critical care fellows rotate through our facility. We have been recognized as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, operate as a Level I Trauma Center, and have established a new Center of Excellence for Research, in addition to being a Primary Stroke Center.

Compensation & Benefits
The starting base compensation for this position ranges from $500,000 to $550,000, adjusted according to years of experience and/or faculty rank. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity incentives and is subject to the specific compensation plans of the department. • Generous retirement contributions
  • Comprehensive medical and dental coverage

  • CME days and funding
  • Relocation assistance (if applicable)
  • Paid malpractice insurance
  • Paid life insurance
  • Loan repayment options (if eligible)

For additional information regarding loan forgiveness, please refer to the relevant resources.

As a California employer, please be aware that residency in California is required by the start date.
