Job description

SCOPE:

Ensures the accurate estimating and costing of projects and special orders provided by AIDA-America Corporation manufacturing and logistics. Responsible for the analysis, measurement, and reporting of various key elements of product costs. In addition, position serves in a support role for the tracking of manufacturing inventory movement and valuation.

EDUCATION:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS:

Five (5) to seven (7) years of general and manufacturing accounting experience preferred.

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

In depth knowledge of MRP and integrated business systems is required.

3-5 years in depth knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and word processing programs.

Knowledge of Foreign Currency (for inventory valuation purposes and for entering into forward contracts).

General knowledge of international business terms and international accounting standards.




JOB FUNCTIONS:

Manages a database of manufacturing inventory for the purpose of valuation,



Responsible for monthly project and service closings for Income Statement presentation in accordance with AE GARM, including monthly percentage of completion postings and calculations of in-process project order losses.



Responsible for valuation of projects for Balance Sheet presentation.



Manage month-end manufacturing inventory cutoffs, reconciliation and reporting.

Apply AE GARM rules for inventory obsolescence to presses, manufacturing semi-finished inventory, service parts, and used presses.


Periodically review offsite inventory to ensure compliance with inventory control procedures.

Responsible for year-end inventory count of manufacturing inventory and assisting with the yearly audit of service parts.

Monitor inventories, installation costs, distributor commission and warranty activity and prepare monthly reserve analysis.



Manage warranty costs for the purpose of determining trends in cost by manufacturing plant and product type.

Responsible for product line margin analysis and variance from budget reporting.



Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Control, and Purchasing to support information and data analysis requirements.

Work with Sales Administration in determining project cost estimates and published list pricing for quoting and sales purposes.



Produce and publish monthly Backlog Forecast.



On a monthly basis, communicate to management all significant forecast-to-actual variances for projects that are in-process and projects completed in the prior month.



Work with external auditors in the areas of project costing, inventory valuation and obsolescence, project revenue recognition and related external reporting.

Forecast and analyze labor and overhead rates used in production.

Track actual bookings verse budgeted forecasts for the After Market Solutions department. Review variances for individual projects and investigate with the Project Manager.

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Perform daily work in compliance with AAC’s QMS and actively participate in AAC’s objective to continuously improve AAC’s QMS.
  • Work in a constructive manner to ensure department outputs satisfy downstream customers and work with upstream suppliers to solve problems.
  • Use the Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) system to identify and capture customer complaints, internal complaints, audit findings, and rework costs, as defined in the CAPA process flow and work instructions.
  • Establish a system that provides regular feedback from downstream customers regarding the department’s performance.
  • Reject poor quality from upstream suppliers.
  • Provide regular feedback to upstream suppliers in order to minimize rejections.
  • Refer to Managerial Skill Map (AAC-F-ADM-31-A) for relevant skill set requirements.


Miscellaneous


  • Understand and work to support achievement of corporate and departmental objectives.
  • Know the AAC Corporate, Associate and Customer Vision and the AAC Quality Policy and conduct daily work in a manner that supports achievement of such.
  • Work with supervisor to establish and meet individual training and development goals.
