Job Summary:
Atlantic Alumina - Gramercy Operations is seeking a Power BI Developer/Analyst to transform raw data into actionable business insights. The role involves designing interactive dashboards, developing complex data models, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver analytical insights.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, publish, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards
• Create complex data models (relationships, schemas, etc.) and write advanced DAX formulas for calculated columns and measures
• Connect to various data sources (SQL Server, SharePoint, Azure, APIs, Excel) and transform data using Power Query (M language)
• Improve report performance, dashboard responsiveness, data refresh efficiency, and underlying query performance.
• Collaborate with business users and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into reporting solutions, and provide analytical insights.
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards, including row-level security, access controls, and overall data integrity.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully complete required drug screening and physical examination.
• TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required prior to offer acceptance; MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training to be completed upon hire.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Service, including workspaces, scheduled refresh, app distribution, and workspace administration.
• Proficiency in Power Query and M language for data cleaning, reshaping, and custom transformations.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, joining, filtering, and aggregation across relational databases.
• Experience in data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling (star schemas).
• Ability to design clear, intuitive, and visually compelling reports and dashboards that prioritize user experience, usability, and ease of navigation, using features such as drill-throughs, bookmarks, KPIs, and conditional formatting.
• Ability to frame data narratives around business decisions using design thinking and visual storytelling.
• 3-5+ years in data analytics or business intelligence roles.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret information.
• Ability to write reports and basic business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers and the public.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs up to 100 feet.
