Job description

The Packer is responsible for packing the material and bundled per customer and company requirements.    This role is pivotal in maintaining Iowa Aluminum's high standards in aluminum extrusion operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Packing Role:

  • Responsible for packing aluminum extrusions per customer and company requirements. 
  • Secure bundles for finished material and prepare for shipment.
  • Assist in various responsibilities.
  • Monitor equipment performance and if issues arise, report to the supervisor.
  • Responsible for safety and proper housekeeping of the shipping and packing area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to apply to follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with all quality-related policies, procedures, and system requirements.
  • Knowledge of Quality Standards.

Training and Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in safety and job training sessions as required.
  • Responsible for safety and proper housekeeping of the packing and shipping areas.

Team Collaboration:

  • Understands the plant quality, productivity, and profitability goals and his/her team’s unique role in attaining them.
