Job Description:
Primary Purpose of Role:
Provides foundational engineering and operational support for datacenter and cloud infrastructure services. This role assists with day-to-day administration, monitoring, patching, backup, and troubleshooting activities while developing technical depth across server, storage, virtualization, cloud, and automation platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily operation of datacenter and cloud infrastructure under established standards and procedures.
Perform routine server administration, including provisioning, patching, access changes, and basic troubleshooting.
Assist with management of virtualization, storage, backup, file services, and core infrastructure services such as DHCP, DNS, and NTP.
Monitor infrastructure and application alerts, respond to issues, and escalate complex problems appropriately.
Execute operational tasks related to lifecycle management, system health checks, capacity reviews, and compliance activities.
Assist with backup validation, disaster recovery testing, and recovery documentation updates.
Contribute to configuration management and basic automation activities using scripts and standard tools.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset/configuration records, and operating procedures.
Key Performance Measures:
Infrastructure incidents resolved within assigned SLA targets.
Patch compliance levels for assigned systems and platforms.
Backup job success rate and completion of restore validation tasks.
Timeliness and accuracy of documentation and configuration updates.
Reduction in repeat incidents through proper issue identification and escalation.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
Associate degree with relevant experience may be considered.
Foundational technical certification preferred (Microsoft, VMware, Azure, AWS, Linux, or similar).
Understanding of enterprise infrastructure support practices preferred.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in infrastructure, server, cloud, or datacenter support.
Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server administration.
Exposure to virtualization, storage, backup, or monitoring tools.
Familiarity with patching, incident management, and change management processes.
Basic scripting or automation exposure in PowerShell, Python, or similar.
Experience working in a structured IT operational environment preferred.
Scope Factors:
Supports enterprise infrastructure services with guidance from senior engineers.
Primarily responsible for execution of defined operational tasks and standard changes.
No direct people management responsibility.
Supports regional or global services as part of a larger team.
Limited decision-making authority; escalates non-standard technical issues.
No direct budget ownership; may influence small operational purchases or renewals through recommendations.
