Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and driven individual to join the Leviat Product Engineering team as a Product Application Engineer. Innovative products and services are at the core of our company and this position is tasked with providing technical assistance and engineering support for all product lines offered in North America. This position reports to the Technical Services Manager.

The Product Application Engineer has three main responsibilities. The first will be to work with internal and external customers to answer any technical questions they may have. The second will be providing design support for our products as they apply to project specific applications. The third will be promoting product specifications by presenting to the design community.

Responsibilities

Specific job functions include but may not be limited to:

Interact and collaborate with contractors, engineers, architects and other professionals to investigate and resolve engineering related issues

Manage time to meet requested due dates and respond to customers with a reasonable timeframe

Perform structural engineering calculations as it relates to Leviat products to assist customers with specifying and using our products

Review and validate engineering calculations prepared by less experienced team members

Serve as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced engineers

Assist with product development, testing, and technical documentation

Provide exceptional customer service

Provide internal and external presentations to assist with promoting Leviat Products

Collaborate and effectively communicate with team members to complete projects

Qualifications (Education/Experience) And Required Skills

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

Structural engineering background and industry experience strongly preferred.

Professional certification as an Engineer in Training required

Progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure strongly preferred.

PE licensure highly valued.

Minimum 4 years of experience in the field of structural engineering as it relates either steel, cast-in place concrete, precast or tilt-up construction.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings

Ability to perform structural design according to applicable codes & standards

Ability to use a variety of computer programs, including AutoCAD, Mathcad and Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Self-starter, motivated and able to take initiative, with ability to start and finish tasks on time

Detail oriented

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to work closely with others

Growth mindset with constant pursuit to learn and grow within role

Physical Requirements

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties include prolonged periods of sitting, frequent computer and telephone use, reviewing technical documentation, and communicating with customers and internal teams. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of product samples, files, or office materials up to 15 pounds may be required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
