Job description

Title: GIS Developer
Type: Long-term contract position
Client Location: 2 Broadway, New York City (Onsite)
 
Project Overview
The GIS Developer will support the creation and integration of geospatial data, including maps, drawings, and other datasets, to identify and manage agency security camera assets.
This role involves building a GIS-enabled environment that integrates with an enterprise video management system, allowing users to:
  • Identify camera locations by place names and entities (e.g., bus stops, subway platforms)
  • Manage multi-level facility mapping
  • Support enterprise-wide GIS initiatives such as security dashboards and BI data fusion projects
 
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS (preferably ArcGIS Pro and extensions)
  • Strong understanding of GIS concepts and mapping fundamentals
  • 2+ years of experience in GIS data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • Hands-on experience with georeferencing techniques
  • Experience developing GIS applications using REST APIs and ArcGIS tools (e.g., Story Maps)
  • Familiarity with mapping file formats: CAD, BIM, KML/KMZ
  • Working knowledge of SQL and geospatial queries
  • Good understanding of transportation or public infrastructure domains (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office tools, including Visio for design diagrams
