Description

The Program Coordinator duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.
  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.
  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.
  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups. May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program.
  • Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • The Program Coordinator will be responsible for both undergraduate programming and communications for the German Studies Department and the interdisciplinary Sustainability Minor, which is administered by the Department of German Studies.
  • This is a part time position, working approximately 20hours per week. The Program Coordinator will provide support to the faculty Directors of Undergraduate Studies for the Sustainability Minor.
  • In addition, the Program Coordinator will support the academic administrator and faculty in the Department of German Studies.

The person in this position will, with minimal supervision: 

  • Help with enrollment, room requests, book adoptions for both German Studies and Sustainability as needed. 
  • Coordinate the Sustainability Minor (update website, advise students, administer degree tracker and degree applications, attend and assist with SUST capstone meetings, and help with outreach for both German Studies and Sustainability (oversee monthly and annual newsletters, produce content for social media, design and distribute flyers, promote by visiting classes and by tabling at Academic Showcases, Earth Day, Oxford Majors fairs, etc., and organize social events).
  • The successful candidate will be someone who works well under pressure, communicates clearly and effectively, anticipates program needs, and prioritizes tasks demanded from two separate programs.
  • Knowledge of German is a plus but not required.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
