At the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA), we meet people where they are. As a Flu Nurse, you will deliver essential influenza vaccinations and nursing care across North Texas-partnering with our clinic teams, home-based clients, and Meals On Wheels (MOW) program to keep our community healthy throughout flu season.

If you are looking for a flexible part-time opportunity to earn while doing meaningful work, this position offers dynamic field experience with direct community impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Administer Immunizations: Deliver flu shots with expert clinical technique and ensure all consent forms and patient records are accurately completed.
  • Provide In-Home Care: Visit clients of all ages in their residences to administer vaccinations, prepare supplies using aseptic technique, and educate families on self-care.
  • Coordinate Care: Partner with the Flu Program Manager, Director of Nursing (DON), and Meals On Wheels (MOW) team to report client findings and ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Complete timely clinical progress notes following all patient interactions and clinic visits.

What We're Looking For:

  • Licensure & Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active Texas RN or LVN license.
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a clinical care setting.
  • Interpersonal Warmth: Strong communication skills, empathy, and comfort engaging with patients of diverse ages and backgrounds.
  • Mobility & Compliance:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a standard background check.
    • Up-to-date TB testing and Hepatitis profile documentation.
