Job description

We are searching for a skilled & passionate 1st Grade Teacher to add to our team of caring Christian educators who will help us enhance the intellectual, spiritual and social development of our children. Your duties will include planning, implementing and assessing lessons, designing a teaching plan and using activities and instructional methods to motivate and engage 1st grade students.
You should be a qualified professional with great attention to children's needs and be able to teach children with patience and creativity.
1st Grade Teacher responsibilities are:
* Develop and implement core curriculum for 1st grade students to meet their varying educational, social and emotional needs
* Design lesson plans and ensure that they are imparted according to each student's ability to grasp concepts
* Establish and enforce behavioral rules in class and ensure that they are followed by each student
* Administer exams and tests and check and grade copies and papers to determine how well students have performed
* Ascertain that students comprehend concepts across different subjects and assist any students who may not be able to keep up
* Adapt teaching methods to each individual student's ability to handle instruction
* Assess and evaluate individual students to determine their strengths and weaknesses
* Plan and conduct activities to ensure that instructional programs are balanced and provide students with an opportunity to observe and question
* Instruct student in groups and individually, depending on their ability to handle pressure
* Observe students' behavior and performance and intervene in adverse situations between students
* Instruct and lead students in the use and care of materials and equipment such computers and projectors
* Prepare and implement remedial programs or classes for students falling behind on targets
* Confer with parents to provide them with insight into their children's progress and provide suggestions for improvements where necessary
* Work together with administration staff, discussing your progress and sharing ideas
* Ensure the compliance with teaching standards and safety regulations
Requirements:
  • Born-Again Believer in Jesus Christ
  • Significant experience in child development using latest education theories and practices
  • Good creative and artistic teaching abilities
  • Good patience and flexibility
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • BA degree in education and/or other relevant license or certificate
  • ACSI or FLDOE Certification
